You won't get 30 goals out of him, but if you get 23 from him, 21 from Silfverberg, and 16 from Emerson Etem, you won't be missing Ryan all that much on offense.

No idea where Etem fits in...I'm pretty sure Selanne is coming back, so maybe we're getting ready to trade a prospect who hasn't panned out much. If Holland leaves, and Etem goes on the 4th line, we still have a hole in 4C that Beleskey can't fill.

They got rid of him because of what happened the last time Bobby Ryan`s contract came up for renewal ....

Silfverburg is a good player and will likely net you 20 goals but until he stops playing on the perimeter, he will be hard pressed for more

That, and the fact that he wasn't going to re-sign in Anaheim unless he got Getzlaf-Perry money.

If you thought Silfverburg played on the perimeter, what till you see Ryan. Unless he is mad (which rarely happens), he floats all on the perimeter all the time.

Ryan = supremely skilled but not very motivated.

He is a great player but is really not a "power fw" like people keep saying.

As for the blog, I think Palms will play on the 2nd line and on the PP and will end up with at least 25 goals. He is very talented.

Bobby Ryan seems like Phil Kessel two/three years ago. Not motivated, all the talent in the world, and ready to bust out. With that said, I don't think either team loses in this deal because the ducks got an absolutely fantastic return for Ryan!

If Spezza can stay healthy, Ryan will have a good year. However, it will be interesting to see how Sens fans react to Bobby's prolonged scoring droughts. His skin is way too thin for a professional athlete, IMO. If Sens fans don't harrass him too much during the down times. he'll be good.

I loved this trade. Good for both clubs, Sens git the best player in the deal but, silverburg will be a good 2nd line scoring winger & noesen a good 3rd liner. As for the 1st rounder I suspect it to be 18 - 25 range

Pretty much exactly the same thing we have been saying about Bobby Ryan for the past 4 years.

If he plays like he did in the second half of last season for a whole year, he'll get 30 goals.

I'm not too worried about him really.
